GST SmartBook Online Book - Page 4
Use this online guide book and the program help files, quick start help and 'How Do I' help.
It is extremely easy to print any report or list of
transactions from the GST SmartBook. Simply set up any
page (Cash Receipts & Payments, Payroll Transactions,
General Ledger Transactions or Reports) for the relevant
period and items and press the Print toolbar icon. If you
want to adjust the selected printer or paper orientation
then select Print from the File menu.

The Cash Receipts & Payments, General Ledger and Report
pages are best printed in Portrait format whereas the
Payroll page may be better in Landscape format.
The process for Exporting data is essentially the same
as for Printing. Set up the appropriate page for the
relevant period and press the Export button at the foot
of that page. The data is then transferred to the clipboard
and you can paste it to any common spreadsheet application.
If you highlight a number of rows of transactions or
subtotals on any page and press the Export button only those
items will be copied to the Windows clipboard.
Opening Files
The GST SmartBook allows you to create a number of different
business files. If there is only one business file created,
the program will automatically load that one and not display
the Open File form.
If you have a number of business files you can open them from
the Open File form. This form will display automatically at the
start of the program or you can access it from the File menu.

Creating New Files
The program will directly prompt you to create a new file when
you first use it (see Getting Started). If you want to add new
files simply choose New File from the File menu and enter the
basic details per the Getting Started section.
Editing Files
Edit any of the standard business details (including the
Instalment Tax rate) by selecting Edit from the File menu.
You can add a new financial year from any of the four main
pages by simply double clicking on the ‘+’ symbol above the
year drop down list box.

This operation cannot be reversed and so you should back up
any data before proceeding. The program will open in future
on the most current year.
